Electronic Claims - Faster turnaround at the DPB
The Electronic Claims module within Orthotrac Office provides you with a set of easy to use functions that have been designed to allow NHS claims to flow through your practice with minimal user intervention. The direct link with the DPB will speed up your response time, therefore allowing you to start treatment sooner.

PCT “Options for Change”
A PDS contract for orthodontics, is being offered on a voluntary basis. In October 2005 it will become the standard orthodontic PDS contract. PDS contracts will be based on the agreed number of orthodontic assessments and the agreed number of orthodontic starts at the practice. This will make the existing method of claiming a fee per item redundant and the introduction of a series of “9000” codes which will be used to pass information in a similar way to those already recorded on PDS2 forms which are administered.

The base contract is being designed to run on a shortened variant of the current FP17 to identify orthodontist, patient, exemption/remission status and patient charge due. Data will be submitted to the Dental Practice Board by electronic data interchange as the base contract data set (FP17 variant) and will contain sufficient information for the patient charge, exemptions, etc, to be verified by the Dental Practice Board from the information already collected at the practice

In fact there will be a number of changes that will affect the way you operate and consequently changes have and are being made to the Orthotrac practice management software to accommodate this. Allowing practices to enter the PDS scheme early or wait until the October 2005 deadline.

As the transition is made to PDS contracts Orthotrac is ready to support the new administrative procedures and support transition from the current system.
